Welcome to the 2025 HeliOffshore Safety Performance Report

HeliOffshore has been collecting safety data since our inception, and we are proud to be in a position to provide the only global perspective on the safety performance of the offshore aviation industry. This latest report, covering the period 2013-2024, reminds us that even after 10 years of building our collaboration, there is more work we can and must do to meet our critical mission to transform global performance, so no lives are lost in offshore aviation. Despite its breakthroughs and successes, safety remains relentless work. Our industry frontline of passengers, maintainers, ground staff, engineers and pilots, deserve nothing less.

Each year, the safety data we collect presents us with opportunity to challenge ourselves. Where does your own safety performance sit against these statistics? Where would you like it to be? When we see new data, we should always expect to react and respond; it should either confirm or challenge our beliefs, but should certainly require us to review and adjust our priorities and safety actions. New data should prompt us to hold ourselves accountable. Consider what you will personally do as a result of reading this latest report. The one action that is not acceptable, is to do nothing.

This historical dataset will mean different things to each member organisation. Please share it deliberately with teams within your company and invite discussion on what it means to your organisation and use your teams’ interpretations as the basis for your own actions. If you think we need to do more at an industry level, please engage with us and tell us what you think we should be doing to improve our collective safety performance. Our Safety Performance Model is driven by this evolving data report and has been revised accordingly in 2025.

Thank you for contributing your data and for your commitment to actioning the priorities it reveals. The act of sharing data for the benefit of all is a measure of our members’ trust in our industry and the community we enjoy. We will only ensure no lives are lost in offshore aviation if we trust each other to use our collective data respectfully and for good purpose. If you have shared data and benefitted from doing so, please encourage other members and stakeholders who have yet to contribute to do so. Only together will we meet our mission.

Please contact me at tim.rolfe@helioffshore.org with any feedback on how this annual report might be improved. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
