HeliOffshore has been collecting safety data since our inception, and we are proud to provide the only global perspective on the safety performance of the offshore aviation industry. This latest report, covering the period 2013-2025, reminds us there is more work we must do to meet our critical mission and ensure no lives are lost in offshore aviation. Our Safety Performance Model is driven by this evolving data report and has been revised accordingly in 2025.

Through working together openly, our industry has built the foundations for safety excellence. We have gathered and analysed the data and developed a library of recommended best practice documents that we know will save lives. But progress on paper is not enough.  Today, the challenge for our industry is clear: we need to make it real.

Best practice only matters when it reaches the frontline. We must stop negotiating with risk, and start embedding what we know works – everywhere, every time. Lives are at stake, and the one action that is not acceptable, is to do nothing.

When reviewing this latest report, ask yourself: what actions have I taken to implement best practice this year? What is one area I can immediately focus on to implement best practice in my operation? What barriers do I face to implementing what we know works, and what support do I need to overcome them?  As a community, our unwavering focus today must be on driving the implementation of best practice around the world.

Please share this report deliberately with teams within your company and invite discussion on what it means to your organisation and use your teams’ interpretations as the basis for your own actions.
